A memorial service celebrating Leon “Woodie” Spears’ life was held Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. Proceedings began at 2 pm, and was followed by a dramatic, appropriate fly-over of P-51 Mustangs, the type of fighter plane Woodie flew. KTVU Channel 2 Segment on Woodie Spears
